Hello there!
This is a journal to keep track of my sewing and ramblings. I'll try to keep the focus as much on my work or what drives it as much as possible.

I'd like to keep this a "friends only" journal for any in depth stuff so please add me and I'll add you back! Otherwise I'll still make a bunch of public entries but not as many.

Well... it's been a little while since I've updated. I guess the world has been avalanching again and I got caught under it.
Ups & downs~

Nibby passing on last month was really hard.
I woke up the other morning thinking he was laying by me (half asleep), and when I turned over, it just turned out to be my other cat .Avi . Then I remembered Nibby was gone, and it made me want to cry :(

I have exams coming up in school so I gotta make sure to work on my practical exams too.
It's just one thing after another in my daily life. At least I've had some really good friends around to help make my days brighter. ( Not to be so corny, but I seriously love and appreciate you guys!)

Yaoicon is coming up, and that is all sorts of exciting. I'll be helping one of my friends out at her dealers table.
I'm a little worried because there were a few things I wanted to see early on Friday but I won't be there until Friday night. ~~I wonder how this will affect cosplay plans if at all?~~

I realize I might really need to revamp my DA.. but I am actually not too sure how to go about doing it... hmmm...

I'm expecting things in the mail and it makes me excited.. like xmas!

Happy things have happened recently too! :) More to ramble at a later time.

Who wants an update?!

Hii everyone,

I got back from SoCal not long ago.. but I took a few days to myself to sort out well, everything. I was able to do that mostly because I'm waiting for supplies to come in the mail.

Family crisis stuff sucks and will keep on sucking probably for a long time. Dad cleared his 2nd surgery but there's a 30% chance he'll need a 3rd one. :( He's really weak right now but he's stable and ok.

Mr.Nibbs is not doing too hot again but he's not yellow. I had to go back to tube feeding him :( He is dangerously thin. Other than being lethergic and being dehydrated and not eating enough he seems to be fine. Just got to keep on top of it.

I think I'm really eager to throw myself back into sewing but emotional backlash makes me a little slow for right now. Well, that and running out of supplies XD;; I'm out of white fabric and stuffing.. If I can get the stuffing tomorrow, I can have almost all of my August schedule done and start working on Sept. annd catch up on school. I have 2 tests coming up.. wee..

OH YEA, So fun news:

I got freaked out yesterday because the sun was blazing in through my living room.. and there was a sudden creepy shadow that showed up.

From my periferial I thought it was like a person.

Turns out it was a giraffe.

Woo update time

Nibby stuff first:
He is doing SO much better!! He's eating mostly by himself now, but still needs his meds until he runs out. He's not nearly as yellow as he was and is even bullying the girls again.
He's still the anorexic cat right now (Down to 10lbs from 20-22) but I'm confident after a few months he'll fill out again. Just, not that big.

I'm so relieved. I can leave the house for the next few weeks and I know hubby can take care of him without needing to force feed him every few hours. It was a long 3 weeks, but knowing he's ok is totally worth it.

Thank you again to everyone who assisted! It's because of all of the help we received that we have him relatively healthy and happy right now!

Now as for sewing stuff..
The last few nights have been pretty hardcore and it won't stop for the next 4-5 days. I just really hope I can manage to replenish my stock in time.

So far:

the Mother 2/Earthbound set is stil good to go
Ice Climbers are done
Moro & Maro from XXXholic are done (just need faces, will take 1 hour approx)
Mother 3 is still about 50%
Macross Frontier set is coming along smoothly

And various other sets still works. Hopefully all Mother/MF stuff will be done by tomorrow sometime.

I also have More CCS stuff (Kero & Suupi's) to finish.. OTL;;
Let's see if I can do it!

I FEEL SO PRODUCTIVE...I think.

Signs of hope and great relief.

I've been putting little bits of kibble by Nibby to try to coax him to eat on his own. So far this hasn't been very effective but he's definitely more energetic than he was last week.

He's still very lethergic, very yellow, constantly dehydrated but BUT BUT!!!!!!

HE ATE SOME FOOD ON HIS OWN!!!!!!

I went in just a little while ago to feed him and decided to try again. So I give him a small handful and am petting him/giving him a ton of attention... and then he starts crunching at it. ;____; I AM SO HAPPY RIGHT NOW.

This is such good news. Hopefully he'll recover quickly and get back to his monster-like self. Naturally this means more treatment for now, but it means he should be fine.

Thank you thank you thank you so much to everyone... I'm so grateful for all of the support/assistance/hugs just everything.. Thank you!!

Time for updates~

Nibby:
Nibby I think is doing a little better but not by too much.
He actually reacts when I pet him now and has held down food 2 days in a row without needing to throw it up all the time. So.. yea! Slow going for now but I think he'll be ok. He should be getting his next vet visit this weekend and next week if all goes well.

Final June/July commission is about 85% finished and should be done by tonight/tomorrow.
Inventory for Anime Expo is going to be a mad dash.

I seriously need a part time assistant SO bad D: (one who can drive preferably ><)

OH, and for anyone who might be curious, AX table B05 is where I'll be located :)

Hopefully once things calm down I can start posting non-commission stuff up and play with some of my new patterns.
I need to figure out how I want to do sitting patterns from now on.. they're proving to be a little more tricky.. (T^T)

News on Nibby

So Mr.Nibbs went to the vet yesterday but his lab work didn't come back until a few hours ago.

Does anyone know how to make one of those neat Meter things that shows you when you get to your goal when you take donations etc?
I can try to do one I update everyday if I just edit a picture..

We've looked into CARE credit before, but I don't remember why we couldn't get it before??
It is something we're still looking into though.

Thank you so much to everyone who has spread the word/donated/entered the raffle/ sent hugs/well wishes etc. I really cannot thank you all and express how grateful we are.

Thank you also for putting up with my whining all over the place. My cats are really important to me because they're part of my family. This has just been a hard year.. it feels like everyone is slipping away all at once.

And just when I thought things would start looking up...
This week has been a total bum out for me. :(

Nothing seems to be going right, family issues, work progress is super slow and worst of all my cat's food was recalled and he got horribly sick again from it. I really hope he'll make it but he's in terrible condition right now.

I started to notice he was getting pretty thin.. and then he started acting really lethergic. This was the same pattern as 2007 so I knew he was getting sick again. But we went to the pet store to buy supplies, and saw signs up everywhere that stated the food had been recalled. It's the Nutro Dry Cat food. Any of their dry cat food apparently..

He won't respond to any foods what so ever now and he's extremely dehydrated. Since it was Sunday there wasn't anything I could do. Today I will be taking him to the vet.

I don't want my cat to die ;__; I just got him healthy again and this stupid brand is irresponsible about the ingredients they put in. I changed his diet to make sure he would be ok.. not for it to make it worse.

Since J. just started his new job things are tight at home, and with AX so far off I'm worried about finances.. I want to hold a raffle/Auction to pay for his medical bills (because he managed to rack up a super bills worth last time he was sick..and I cannot afford that right now) at least just to pay for tomorrows visit.
I know it's not the most humble thing to do.. but I don't know what else to do right now :( I don't want to lose my little boy.

Does this seem like a bad idea? :( I don't want to come across .. I don't know... in bad taste? But for his sake I don't really care right now. So my apologies if it offends anyone. I'll also be putting up a temporary donate button in my DA in case anyone wants to donate to the Save Nibby cause.

Does anyone else ever feel this territorial?

UGH I hate it when people just wander into my sewing room without at least asking permission to enter first D:< or if they just demand to go in.
I have a sign up! ....TWO even!!! People can't read?!

Isn't it common courtesy to at least ASK if you can see/go in there??

I mean, even if I'm good friends with you.. no especially if I'm good friends with you I think It'd make more sense for manners??

It's not a public place, it's my work.

It's not a costume shop where people can just come in and assume they can just wear my costumes whenever.

It's not a place where you can just enter and start going through my plushes or my commissions and start tossing them about. >:{

This isn't directed at any one person but several instances in the past 2 months

I can't seem to keep myself from collecting projects.

Everytime I try to clear off my commissions list so I can work on projects that have been on the back burner, (or to prepare for Fanime) I end up taking on more :(

I wonder if I'm a workaholic?

I'm fretting over cosplay that I need to work on and get wigs for. Blue, green or black?

Ugh
You ever just have one of those days?

I woke up and set to work sewing ... and then when I went to iron stuff with my mini iron, I noticed something wasn't right.
...Then I noticed the plastic all around the iron itself melted. Now I don't know if it's safe for me to try to keep using it, It's tilted and extremely hot.
;__; but I needed it so badly to finish all of my projects!!
Whyyyyy....

On the progress side of everything:
I'm almost done with the Gyakuten Saiban doujinshi character set! Hopefully by Monday the remaining 2 (Apollo and Kristoph) will be ready to go to their new home! All that's left is hair, face and tiny clothing details.

Mo from WallE should be done today/tomorrow if all goes as planned.

I made a severe miscalculation when I made the Taru plush and if I stick with what I've already cut out, it will be about 8-10 inches bigger than originally planned :( WAY too big. ..but then I feel like it's a waste of fabric if I just start over. Decisions decisions...

New Flickr for plush stuff

I finally caved in and decided to make a flickr account for all of my plush works.
This way when I remember to take an updated picture of whatever I'm working on, I can upload it there and people can check in to see.

It's a little bit frustrating when people will constantly ask if I have been working on their commission. ._, I'm working on everything as fast as I can. People need to learn to be patient. Gosh.
I try to work on a first come first serve basis.

How do you deal with frustrating situations like that?

In other news, I feel like I'm slowly sorting out my to do list, but real life problems will always hold priority.
I hope everyone is enjoying the season~
